This Olympic-sized ‘river-friendly’ floating pool is to be sited between Piers 2 and 3 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The all-season multi-purpose recreation complex acts as both a pedestrian walking bridge between the piers and as wave attenuator, and has below-deck changing rooms with skylights, a transparent pool bottom to minimize marine shading, and waterside access for boaters. The estimated cost of the project is between $14-17 million.
